Salomé is a painter, illustrator, sculptor and public artist, creating in Philadelphia. Her practice revolves around the raw quality of the human experience—figures at ease in their own skin, unguarded and unwatched, fully embracing the fleeting joy of ephemeral moments.

Salomé Tamayo (she/her) is an artist born and raised in Medellín, Colombia, who now resides in Philadelphia. She received her BFA in Illustration from Savannah College of Art and Design with concentrations in Drawing and Scientific Illustration. Having lived and spent time in Colombia, Puerto Rico, Hong Kong, Florida, Georgia and now Pennsylvania, she brings a cross-cultural perspective to her body of work. Her sculptural and painted portraits celebrate authentic human moments and challenge societal stereotypes through exaggerated features and warm color palettes. Tamayo's work has been exhibited throughout the USA and internationally, including recent shows at Delaware County Community College and Powell Arts Gallery in Philadelphia. In 2017, she was awarded the Latin American Illustration winner for her experimental 3D work.
